17+ Ways To Cook With Mrs. Renfro’s Salsa
If you’re like us, you love flavor experimentation and making every dish your own. Here are a few ways to get creative in the kitchen with Mrs. Renfro’s – and remember that you can swap or combine different salsa flavors for completely different results.
- Use it for QUESO. Mix salsa with melted cream cheese, half-and-half and shredded cheese to make queso. You can also take a crack at our Chipotle Nacho Cheese Dip and Nacho Sliced Jalapenos in Mrs. Renfro’s Kickin’ Nachos.
- Mix with plain Greek yogurt for DIP or SALAD DRESSING. Or if you’re into layered dips, try this Roasted Garlic Layered Border Dip.
- Mix with avocado for GUACAMOLE. That’s how we make guacamole “extra.”
- Use to flavor HOMEMADE CHILI. For specifics, here’s a recipe for Chipotle Corn Chili, but you can mix it up with any flavor.
- Mix with your choice of meat, veggies and stock for SOUP. The possibilities are endless, but here’s a recipe for Green Chili Stew with Pork and one for Black Bean Salsa Soup.
- Add to instant RAMEN. It’s time for that dorm days staple to graduate (with honors).
- Mix with mayo for CHICKEN/TUNA/SALMON/POTATO SALAD. True wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.
- Add to MAC AND CHEESE or TUNA NOODLE CASSEROLE. Whether you’re making mac and cheese from scratch or mixing up the boxed stuff – because that is the sweet taste of childhood.
- Spice up the filling in DEVILED EGGS. You might have called them “angeled eggs” if you grew up in certain areas. #IYKYK
- Mix with ground beef to make TACO MEAT. You can have yourself a Taco Tuesday. It’s not trademarked anymore!
- Mix with ground beef, breadcrumbs and eggs for MEATLOAF. Need help starting? Check out this recipe forCraft Beer Meatloaf.
- Mix with ground beef and ground pork for HAMBURGERS. Here’s a burger recipe we love with our barbecue sauce: Chipotle Barbecue Pork Burgers.
- Bake with eggs in a FRITTATA or QUICHE. Or maybe this cheesy eggy dish called Mexican Fudge.
- Use as a MARINADE. For instance, here’s a recipe for marinating shrimp in Mango Habanero Salsa or one for Grilled Peach Salsa Chicken. (Be sure to dispose of any excess marinade that came in contact with raw meat; use a fresh jar if you want extra for topping.)
- Use as PIZZA SAUCE. Buy some of that cauliflower crust or, you know, don’t.
- Use as SPAGHETTI SAUCE. Here’s our recipe for Spicy Spaghetti Sauce.
- Use in a BLOODY MARY. Responsibly, folks. Responsibly.
